ESG

In times of global challenges and dynamic change, the issue of sustainability has become a key business priority. Responsible business practices focusing on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues are, so to speak, the hallmark of an organization, and will greatly influence the decision on potential cooperation or financing.

GESSEL was founded 30 years ago by Beata Gessel, now our senior partner, who from the beginning of her career has actively supported the development of women in the business community. Currently, our team is composed of 136 people, 57.3% of whom are women. Among the partners, they account for 37.5% , among managing partners – 53.8%, and among senior associates – 70.8%. We also cooperate with the Women in Law Foundation, which integrates the legal community in women’s issues.

For years, GESSEL has consciously focused on sustainable and responsible business. The pillars of our organization such as equal treatment, listening to and realizing the needs of employees, a fair approach to cooperation, knowledge transfer and mentoring, and pro bono activities have stood strong since our beginnings.

GESSEL is also at the forefront of the green energy transition. We assist clients with renewable energy matters on a number of fronts, including: advice on transaction, corporate advice (on regulation and capital markets), and entity financing services.

We are not forgetting our carbon footprint, we are changing our office to be more environmentally sustainable – starting with waste sorting, responsible purchasing and service decisions, and promoting positive pro-environmental habits in and out of the office. We want to be part of the change we want to see in the world.
