A collector of antiques, old prints and books, an expert on the history of the British Empire… He was characterized by professionalism, commitment and an extraordinary sense of humour. He looked at reality from the position of a professional, an experienced man, distant from many matters. Always ready to listen and advise. He never acted hastily when he made decisions as a superior, he sought agreement, guided by the good of the other party. He was a master of retort, an excellent orator.
