Aldona Pietrzak joins in the jubilee session of the Monterey Funds Club

Aldona Pietrzak participated in the jubilee session of the Monterey Funds Club held in Luxembourg on 9-10 March 2018. The meeting was devoted, in the first order of importance, to implementation and application of MIFID II – the EU directive whose coming into force in January 2018 brought significant changes concerning distribution of financial products in European countries.

The Monterey Funds Club is a private club assembling lawyers who specialise in capital markets law, with especial focus on investment funds. Its members meet on a semi-annual basis in one of their home countries to discuss the issues of the day encountered by European lawyers in their work, covering areas such as harmonisation of the law, implementation of EU directives in individual national jurisdictions, and application of EU-wide norms with due heed for the specific characteristics of specific legal systems. The casual formula of these meetings is conducive to building contacts and comparison of notes. 2018 marks 15 years of the  Monterey Funds Club’s existence.
