Another publication featuring input from GESSEL lawyers – Prof Marek Michalski and Michał Szutenbach, advocate

We are proud to note that Prof Marek Michalski and Michał Szutenbach have contributed as co-authors to “Capital Markets Law. Commentary”, a new title in C.H. Beck’s Large Commentaries series edited by Prof Marek Wierzbowski, Dr Ludwik Sobolewski and Dr Paweł Wajda.

This book presents the most comprehensive discussion of issues pertaining to capital markets law in Poland published to date. Apart from the three statutory cornerstones – the legislative Acts on public offering, on trade in financial instruments, and on markets supervision – it also covers the key regulatory instruments at European Union level, including the Market Abuse Regulation and Regulation (EU) of the European Parliament and of the Council 2017/1129 on the prospectus.

This new book presents the fruits of joint efforts by legal practitioners, by employees (current and former) of oversight authorities and of infrastructural institutions, and of academics. For their part, Prof Michalski wrote about dealing in financial instruments, and Michał Szutenbach helped prepare the comments to the Market Abuse Regulation.

Prof Marek Michalski cooperates with GESSEL as of counsel. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. His specialization – and the main theme of his numerous publications – encompasses the legal aspects of securities and financial instruments, public securities markets, banking law, capital markets and financial institutions law and business law. 

Michał Szutenbach, advocate recently joined GESSEL’s capital market practice, bringing expertise in capital markets law and business law, with especial emphasis on practical application of the Market Abuse Regulation, the public offering Act, and the trade in financial instruments Act. He is also the author of academic publications in the sphere of capital markets law.
