Dr hab. Beata Gessel-Kalinowska vel Kalisz, Professor at the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Founding and Senior Partner of GESSEL, has been recognised in the latest edition of the “50 Most Influential Lawyers” ranking published by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, ranking 41st.

The recognition reflects over 30 years of experience in complex, high-value disputes and a well-established presence in the international arbitration community. Beata Gessel has participated in nearly 170 arbitration proceedings conducted in Poland and internationally, including matters relating to infrastructure projects, energy investments, M&A transactions and international commercial contracts.

Her practice is further distinguished by her roles within leading arbitral institutions. She serves as a Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague and as President of ICC Poland, the Polish National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, contributing to the development of arbitration standards and international trade practice.

“This recognition is particularly meaningful as it reflects not only an individual professional journey, but above all the work of our team and the trust placed in us by clients in their most demanding matters,” said Dr hab. Beata Gessel-Kalinowska vel Kalisz, Founding and Senior Partner at GESSEL.

“Beata Gessel’s position in the legal market is the result of consistently built experience and sustained engagement in the development of arbitration, both in Poland and internationally. This recognition confirms her standing among the leading figures in the field,” said Marcin Macieszczak, Managing Partner at GESSEL.
