GESSEL advised the KOWAL Foundation on the conclusion of a contract for the construction and maintenance of a Polish data repository

GESSEL advised the Polish Medicines Verification Organisation (PLMVO, in polish: Krajowa Organizacja Weryfikacji Autentyczności Leków, KOWAL) on the conclusion of a contract for the construction and maintenance of a Polish data repository under the European Medicines Verification System.

GESSEL advised the Foundation of Polish Medicines Verification Organisation during negotiations with Arvato Systems GmbH related to the conclusion of a contract for the construction and maintenance of a Polish data repository under the European Medicines Verification System. The Polish Medicines Authorization Verification System, which will be created as a result of the implementation of this agreement, will be one of the elements of the Central System, ultimately covering all EU member states and the European Economic Area. Works on the contract took into account parallel implementation in other European countries, which had a significant impact on the degree of  difficulty in negotiating its terms.

The project was successful, the formal signing of the contract took place in Warsaw, on July 5, 2018. The contract was signed in the presence of representatives of organizations associated in the Foundation’s authorities and representatives of the so-called affiliated organizations, to which the following companies belong at the day of signing the contract: PharmaNET Pharmaceutical Employers’ Association, Polish Federation of Hospitals, PASMI and GS1 Poland.
