GESSEL Law Firm provided advice to SunRoof on raising funding in the investment round

Following SunRoof’s first closing of an investment round in September 2022, under which the company raised funding of about €15 million (about PLN 70 million), GESSEL again advised SunRoof on increasing the scope of the investment round by raising additional funding of about €13.5 million (about PLN 630 million), which was raised from a consortium of European investors: World Fund, Nordic Alpha Partners and Legal & General Capital.
The obtained funding will raise the total value of the investment round led by SunRroof with the guiding involvement of Klima Energy Transition (an Alantra special-purpose fund) to about EUR 28.5 million (about PLN 135 million) and will be used in the implementation of expansion plans in Europe and the United States.
The GESSEL advisory covered comprehensive legal services, including preparation and negotiation of the investment agreement, corporate and technical documents, as well as finalization of the transaction. GESSEL also coordinated cooperation with foreign advisors.
SunRoof is a startup that creates 2-in-1 solar roofs and solutions to support smart energy management. The company offers innovative technology that replaces the traditional roof and therefore provides an alternative to separately installed photovoltaic panels. The company also offers homeowners a complete energy management system.
