GESSEL supports Sunfish Partners in structuring of a venture capital fund with a Polish Development Fund contribution

GESSEL has supported Sunfish Partners in legal and tax structuring of a new fund established under PFR Starter program of the Polish Development Fund. GESSEL has advised on the Polish aspects of the fund’s future functioning. 

The GESSEL team supporting Sunfish Partners on this project was composed of Marcin Macieszczak, managing partner, Michał Bochowicz, managing associate, Inarda Bielińska, attorney and Weronika Zdeb, trainee advocate.

Sunfish Partners, based in Berlin, is one of the few German venture capital funds active in the Polish start-up market. Sunfish Partners has just announced closing of the early stage of establishing a fund within the PFR Starter program. Sunfish’s partners aim to cooperate with start-up founders with strong data science and engineering backgrounds who use new technologies to approach existing sectors in new ways or to build sectors of the future. Sunfish Partners has attracted a large number of Polish and international entrepreneurs and investors. Furthermore, Sunfish Partners will be one of the larger funds involved in the PFR Starter programme to date.
