Whatever its final outcome, this has been a case of a family business’ road through hell as it tried to find its way around the legal system.
B., an entrepreneur with 25 years’ experience and now president of a successful family company in northern Mazowsze, was called upon by a debt enforcement bailiff to remit PLN 479,000 as overdue rent for an industrial space. The enforcement bailiff addressed no less than 105 separate calls for payment to B., and proceeded to impose fines for failure to comply at PLN 2,000 each. All this in a situation where the owner of the facility in question harbours no claims against B., and B. has always paid his rent on time (…)
