The Polish government is taking its time with the final decision regarding cemeteries on 1 November. There are certain things worth remembering whatever the outcome – what are they ?
All Saints’ Day – a holiday when Poles traditionally head out to cemeteries in their millions to tend to graves and light candles for their deceased loved ones, and to meet their families while they’re at it – is but a few days away. This year, 1 November may end up looking altogether different. Just how different, we don’t know, because the government is still delaying announcement of the social gathering rules for the holiday period. For the moment, all we have are recommendations, the main one apparently being: stay at home, visit your graves some later time (…)
