Role of courts in addressing the climate crisis

Maja Frontczak, senior associate and Łukasz Ostas, associate have published an article entitled “Role of courts in addressing the climate crisis” in the newest issue of the Contact Magazine Online of the BPCC – the British Polish Chamber of Commerce).
The two GESSEL lawyers cite examples of court cases from Germany, France, and Australia to illustrate different approaches to environmental protection grounded in national legal systems. Their article also notes the possibilities for incorporating national obligations in the area of greenhouse gas emissions in the Polish and English legal systems and discusses climate-related cases coming before the courts in these two jurisdictions.
The newest issue of Contact Magazine Online published by the British Polish Chamber of Commerce, in anticipation of the imminent United Nations COP26 conference, is devoted to environmental issues and to the green transformation. It endeavours a review of the current status and identification of challenges and opportunities for the future.
