Management buy-outs no longer give rise to unhealthy and ultimately unnecessary uproar, but the barriers faced by take-over professionals and managers with initiative remain legion. Of course, identifying a good take-over target is difficult in itself, but this may well be the smallest problem – one must then explore the financing options offered by banks and, in many cases, bring on board another investor because the funds may still be insufficient.
