Work while isolating. The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate applies to the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy for an official position concerning coronavirus-positive workers

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has been receiving a steady stream of queries concerning employees testing positive for Covid-19. The doubts are focused on remote work by individuals who have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 but who are not experiencing any symptoms.

In accordance with the applicable laws, a person suspected of being a Covid-19 carrier and, accordingly, ordered to quarantine is free to work from home. If she does so, she is not eligible for sickness benefit (be it a statutory sickness benefit or sick pay).

“Being on quarantine does not, in and of itself, mean that the given person is unable to provide labour…” (…)
