In memoriam dr Janusz Fiszer

Dr Janusz Fiszer specialized in the field of Polish and international tax law. He was an academic lecturer, from 1980 he gave lectures continuously at the University of Warsaw, he was a co-author of many acts and over 1,100 professional publications on legal, tax and financial topics in professional Polish magazines (including “Finanse”, “State and Law”, ” Przegląd Podatkowy”, “Monitor Podatkowy”, “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”), English-language (including “Tax Notes International”, “Tax News Service”, “East European Business Law”, “European Taxation”, “Intertax”) and German (“Wirtschaft und Recht in Osteuropa”).

Leader in international and national rankings of lawyers-specialists in tax law and tax advisors: Chambers, Chambers Europe, PLC Which Lawyer?, World Tax, Ranking of Tax Advisory Firms and Tax Advisors, Who’s Who Legal – The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, Rzeczpospolita, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna and Forbes.

A collector of antiques, old prints and books, an expert on the history of the British Empire… He was characterized by professionalism, commitment and an extraordinary sense of humour. He looked at reality from the position of a professional, an experienced man, distant from many matters. Always ready to listen and advise. He never acted hastily when he made decisions as a superior, he sought agreement, guided by the good of the other party. He was a master of retort, an excellent orator.
