The Polish Office for Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has imposed a penalty of more than PLN 19 million on TP EmiTel, a subsidiary of Telekomunikacja Polska SA and owner of a network of radio and TV signal relay stations, for discrimanting public broadcasters in its pricing policies. The proceedings before UOKiK were conducted pursuant to an application by the Union of Public Media Employers, advised by GESSEL. The President of UOKiK recognised the points put forward by GESSEL, proscribed further abuse of TP EmiTel’s dominant market position, and applied an immediate execution clause to the decision. For GESSEL, the case was handled by Bernadeta Kasztelan-Świetlik, attorney at law.
