Lecture for the Lesław A. Paga Equity Market Leaders Academy

On 15 July, Krzysztof Marczuk and Daniel Lipnicki, lawyers from GESSEL’s equity markets department, addressed scholars of the fourth edition of the Lesław A. Paga Equity Market Leaders Academy at a summer session in Serock, delivering a lecture about “The Seven Deadly Sins of Companies in the Equity Market”.

The lecture focused on legal risks (from the perspective of criminal and administrative liability) arising from potential errors or irregularities by management board members and by publicly listed companies with respect to the rules governing confidentiality, closed periods, current statements and periodic reports, and IPOs. The lecture then moved on to issues relating to acquisition of large packets of shares in publicly listed companies. The various points were illustrated with specific examples and were hotly debated among the participants.
