Antitrust clearance secured for a pioneering energy project

GESSEL represented Synthos Green Energy S.A. in proceedings before UOKiK, the Polish antitrust authority, geared at securing permission for establishment of a joint business enterprise with GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy International LLC; the project also required clearance from the Bundeskartellamt, the competition authority in Germany. The new venture aims to develop and implement modular nuclear reactor technologies.
This is another business initiative pursued by the Michał Sołowow group of companies in the context of reducing greenhouse emissions and implementing the European Green Deal, whereunder the European Union countries are to become climate neutral by 2050.
The Polish filing documents were prepared by Karolina Krzal-Kwiatkowska, managing associate and Karolina Olszewska, associate; Christian Schmidt, partner represented our Client before the German competition authority, and Bernadeta Kasztelan- Świetlik, partner was responsible for the whole.
